OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF
THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA,FRIDAY,APRIL 15,194+9.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana, met in regular
session in its office in the City Hall in said City Friday, April 15,1949 at 9:00 A.M.
o'clock. Mr. Harold G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.
W.E. Ross and C.M. Haworth. The following busihess was had,to-wit:
The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with.
The following action was taken by the Board on the future erection of permenate awnings
in the City: All permenate awnings shall be so erected that the lowest point on said
awning shall be no less than seven (7) feet from the level of the sidewalk. The usual
proceedure of ontaining the permits shall be through the Building Inspector. .
The Board granted permission to the owner of property at 236 So., 8th Street to re-
move a tree tha has been inspected by Mr. L. Ridgeway and found to be dead.
Friday, April 15th,1919 at 9;30 AM. o'clock, being the date and time set for the Board
to receive sealed bids 6or the new Air Compressor for the Street Department. The fol-
lowing bids were received:

This bid was not accepted for reason of not being on the form prescribed by the
State Board of Accounts.
All the above bids were referred to the City Engineer, Street Comm. and City
Attorney to tabulated and make recommendations at- the next meeting.
The Board granted permission to the A & P Food Store at South gth and B Street
to cut the curb on the Southeast corner for a parking lot. This to be a factory
curb.
The Board authorized the Clerk ton.notify Mri Rhoades:.andcMr. Swisher to attend
the next regular meeting for discussion on a curb cut on North 7th Street. '
A petition was received to concrete the Alley between South loth and South 15th
Streets from South F Street to South L Street and was referred to the Engineer-
ing Department for plans and specifications.
The meeting of all persons interested in and effected by the "Proposed Grade
Separation" was called off, because the date of hearing was on a legal holi-
day. The day being Good Friday and the State Statues states that it is consider-
a legal holiday. The Clerk was authorized to prepare the proper publication for
a hearing on the "Proposed Grade Separation" and said hearing to be on the 6th
day of May, 1949 in the office of the Board of Works at 10 o'clock A.M. C.S.T.

There being no further business to be brought before the Board, Mr. Rosa moved
to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Haworth and carried unanimously.
