HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-18-1949 3a8 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1949. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Building in said City, Friday February 18th, 1949, at 9:00 A.M. o'clock. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding and the following members being present: Messrs. W.E. Ross and C.M. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Chief of f?olice, L. Rohe recommended that the bid for two motorcyaclea as submitted from the Earl Wright Co., be accepted. The Board unanimously approved the recommendation of the Chief of Police. Bid of Earl Wright: - 1-1949- Harley-Davidson (Servicar) with Police Utility group, heavy duty generator, voltage control and shielding and two (2) spot lights with red lens on cross bars $957.80 (Above utility group consists of front safety guard, steering damper, rear bumper, 500/16 tires, air cleaner and front fender light. ) . 1-1948-Harley Davidson (Servicar) with Police utility group, hevy duty generator, voltage control and shielding and two (2) spot lights with red lens on cross bars $907.80 (Utility group the same as above quoted) Total for the two (2) $1,865.60 Trade-in allowance on two (2) 1945 models $ 650.00 Net price for two (2) $1,215.60 Petitions to concrete alleys in Peacock Terrace signed by 106 resident free- holders in said area were presented to the Board. These petitions were referred to the City Engineer to prepare an estimate and proper advertising for a future hearing. . The Board allowed claims in the sum of $ 30,514.51. There being no futher business to be brought to the attention of the Board, Mr. Ross moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Haworth and carried unanimously. • d ' 9 Chairman Attest: Secretar
