OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, JANUARY 21,1949.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in
regular session in its office in the City Building in said City, Friday, Jan-
uary 21, 191+9 at 9:00 A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following mem-
bers being present: Messrs. W.E. Ross and C.M. Haworth. The following busines
was ha, to-wit: _
The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with.
The Board authorized the Chief of Police to advertise for two new motor-
cycles for the Police Department.
The following complaints from Council were filed: The condition of North-
west Fifth Street, Williamsburg Pike, Bridge Ave, North Tenth Street Bridge
and the need of lights along Williamsburg Pike. The excessive blocking of
the North 8th Street crossing. The flasher signal at G.R.& I. crossing.
The Board authorised Mr. Ross to prepare a letter to be sent to the State
Highway Comm. of Indiana of the condition of the above streets and the need
of immediate attention.
On proper motion and seconded the Board approved that no more action be
taken on petitions for the installation of street lights until a master plan
has been completed by the light plant.

The Board allowed claims in the sum of ? :?5, 4/7e5, 50
Mr. Ross moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Haworth and carried unanimously
by the Board.
