The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana met in regular session in its office,in the City Building .in said city, Friday, Dec- ember 24 ,194 at 9:00 A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Messrs. W.E. Ross and C.M. Haworth. The following pro- ceedings were had, to-wit: The minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. • On. recommendation of the Police Chief' Lucas Rohe, the board approved the appointment of the following men to the police department for the probationary period, Donald E. Moelk, James R. Saxton and Walter E. Stout. As d-1 Anr /d9,19 The Board approved John Christman to make one tap on the sewer in the old Hawkins Spring property. Any future tap to be paid by the petitioner. Pursuant to .adverstising in the Richmond Pallidium newspaper that the Board would receive bids for the leasing of the Market House at South Sixth and A ,Street. , at 9:00 a.m. December 24th,19)-1-S. There was only one bid received and opened. This bid. was that of Mike Derago and Fred Schneider. The bid was the . sum .of $900.00 a year for the entire Market House. The Board as a whole took this bid under advisement. • The Board allowed claims in the sum of $ 37 7 f( There being no further business to be brought to the attention of the Board, upon propre motion and seconded the Board adjourned. ✓✓�l �a -� Chairman. Attest: Clerk Addition to the minutes. Councilman Mariho complaints that were referred to the Board as follows: 1. Traffic lights on Main Street in the downtown area do not allow enough time for north and south bound traffic to move. 2. All left-hand turns should be eliminated on Main Street from 4th to 12th St. 3. The Indiana R.RL buses should be made to make their stops on the opposite corners from which they now stop. 4. A guard rail is needed on the east side of W.W. Blvd. from No. 10th to West 1st. 5. The C.& O. R.R. side track at the crossing of South L St© is not connected to the main line of the railroad crossing signals. When cars are switching this causes a hazard. to the teeffic that crosses said crossing. The above complaints were taken under advisement.
