OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, AUGUST 27th,194g.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met
in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday, August 27th, 19)+5 at
9:00 o'clock A.M. Mr. H.G. Coleman presiding and the following members being
present; Messrs. W.E.Ross and C.M. .Haworth. The following business was had,
to-wit:
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
A petition was received from property owners in the Maxwell Addition request-
ing the installation of a sanitary sewer in the Maxwell Addition. This petition
was referred to the City Attorney to check the list of names on the petition.
Fire Chief, L. Williams reported that he had nothing to report on the smoke
complaint that Councilman Myers had in the Northeast section of the City.
A complaint of trucks and cars using the Bealview Park for a parking lot was
referred to L. Ridgeway to investigate and report to the Board.
The Board instructed the Clerk to notify the property owner of the lot on the
Northwest corner of South 13th and Q Street to remove ohetrim the shrubbery
that is causing a traffic hazard. The Board also approved the installation
of a 4 way stop sign at South 13th and Q, Street and the installation of a
"City Limit" sign on Q Street at the culvert.
The Board approved the "No Parking" on both sides of North A Street from North
Second Street to North Fifth Street. This to be temporary until Doran Bridge
is open to traffic.
The Board approved the approved the request of the Rendezvous Cafe, 1135 Main
Street, to erect a 100 ft tower ontop of said building. The erection to be
made with the understanding that if in the future the said tower is a hazard
that it wil`_1 be removed in a reasonable length of time.
The Board approved the following curbs cuts; 1414 Hunt Street, for private
drive and 115 S.W. 9th St. for private drive.
Councilman -Tracy presented a complaint of the Swayne Robinson Foundry blowing
Cupalo ash on cars parked in the area of the Foundry. This was investigated
and found that the management of the foundry is making every provision to
remedy this condition.
The Board allowed claims in the amount of a2 ,7�7 D
There being no further business to be brought to the attention of the Board,
Mr. Ross moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Haworth and carried unanimously
by the Board.
