The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana met in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday, March 12th, 194 g at 9:00 a.m. o'clock. Messrs. H.G. Coleman, S.W. Hodgin and C.M. Haworth being presentbthe following business was had to-wit; The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Mayors Meadows presented a complaint on the. havina Motors Sales, loc- ated on East Main Street, of having crushed rock accumilating on the • • sidewalk in the front of said place. This was referred to tlae Street Debt. The Board approved tentatively the Sensor Scouts occupying the N.Y.A. building at the Glen Park,until the Insurance Co. is notified. Chief of Police, L. Rohe, reccomended that Howard Brooks Stottlemire be appointed as probationary patrolman as of MarchU6th,1948. Mr. Haworth moved and Mr. Hodgin seconded that the reccomendation of the Chief of Police recommendation be accepted. This was approved by the Board. Chief of Police L. Rohe recoomended that a fifteen minute parking sign be installed for two cars length in front of the Penna R.R. Depot.for the use of patrons of the R.R. Mr. Hodgin maved and Mr. Haworth seconded the motion that the reccomendation of the Chief of Police be accepted. The Board approved and ordered the Supt. of Street Dept. to erect the sign. The Board authorized the Supt: of Street Dept. to investigate the type of "No Turn" signs that the State Highway Dept. would suggest that the City use instead of the present sign used for this purpose.at gth & Main Streets. Chief of Fire Dept. L. Williams advised the Board that Roy Hardy is in Long Island,N.Y. inspecting fire fighting apparatus. Mr. Williams also advised the Board that the final bids on the new Fire Pumper are still • under advisement. The Board authorized the .Weights and Measure Inspector, Mr. Snavely to present at the next meeting of the Board the present contracts • and locations of. tuchma 1.7theHMarket House. A letter from the M.E.L.& P.P. of Richmond was received advising the Board that the material for the traffic light at Southbl6th & A Sts. was in and ready for instailmg t upon a formal order from the Board.' The Board otder.ed the Clerk of Board to advise the Light Plant that funds were not available for this installing of the traffic light. The ''''ontraclis of the Preliminary Report for the Disposal Plant between the City of Richmond and the H.B. Steeg & Asscoiates was presented by Mr. Ross. Mr. Haworth moved and Mr. Hodgin seconded the motion that the Board sign the coot ct .
