HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-16-1948 LJIC) OBFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA ' FRIDAY, JANUARY lbth,l94S The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana,met in regular session in the office of the Board,oFriday, January 1bth,1948 at 9:00 a.m. Messrs. Harold G. Coleman, Clifford Haworth and S.W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the last meeting were dead and approved. Mr. $origin moved and Mr. Haworth seconded that the Clerk of .the Board be autorized to advertise for the purchase of two (2) or less lightwieght coach or sedan automobiles with a trade in allowance on two (2f) 191+b Chevrolet automobiles,one a coach and one a sedan for the Police Department in accord- ance with specifications on file with the Clerk of the Board, along with reg- ular legal proceedings. This was approved. and bids to be received Feb 6,1948. Mr. Haworth moved and Mr. hodgEbn seconded that the Clerk of the Board be authorized to advertise for the purchase of two (2) new 12 dump trucks with trade in allowance on one 1937 Dodge dump truck,known as #15 and one Dodge 1938 dump truck known as #14+ for the Street Department in accordance with specifications on file with the .Clerk of the Board. Bids to be received Feb. bth,1948 at 9:00 a.m. This was approved. Chief of the Fire Dept. ,Leslie Williams reported that the new pumper was in service at #2 hose house. The Acceptance Test being accepted. Mr. Ross,Supt. of the Disposal Plant asked permission 4. the Board to pur- chase a new head for the Gas engine at the Disposal Plant. Mr. Hodgin moved and Mr. Haworth seconded that Mr. Ross be granted permission to purchase a new head for the Gas en gine at the Disposal Plant. This was approved. The Clerk of the Board was advised to hold the advertsing of the new fire truck until futher notice from the Board. After allowing claims in th amount of $7,055.Ob,upon proper motion the / Board adjourned. Mr. Hodgin moved and Mr. Haworth seconded that the resignation of Frank Hickman from the Police Department as of January lb,191+8 be accepted. It was so approved and ordered.
