HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-02-1948 -Si5 OFFICEEOF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA FRIDAY, JANUARY 8,1948 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,Indiana;met in regular session in the o' fice of the Board,Friday,January 2,1948,at 9:00 a.m. Messrs. Harold-G. Coleman, Clifford Haworth and S.W. Hodgin being present, the following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Harold G. Coleman was selected by consent of the Board at this meet- ing and future meetings to act in the capacity of President of the Board. Ather J.Reeg,City Clerk, was appointed Clerk of the Board. • Upon recommendation of the Chief of Police,Lucas Rohe, IMIr. Hodgin moved and Mr. Haworth seconded a motion that Alger D. Acton be installed as pro- bationary patrolman of the Police Department as of January 2,1948. Upon' recommendation of the Chief of the Fire Dept. ,Lester "Williams, Mr. Hodgin moved and Mr. Haworth seconded a motion that Kieth-E. Burcisall, Ora T. Williams ,Jesse T. Price ,Charles Horney, Donavon C. Johnson, Howard-E. Sprouse and Harry Leavell be installed as probationary firemen to the Rich- mond Fire. Dept. as of January 2,1948. It was so ordered. At 9:30,the hour set for receiving of bids for Air Diffuser Equipment Sew- age Disposal Plant pursuant to legal advertisment as previously published, the bid only being oiie in number was opened. Mr. Haworth moved and Mr. uole- man seconded and it was so oredered that this bid referred to a committee composed of S.W. Hodgin and Ed. Ross. This committee examined the bid:'. and found it satisfactory. Mr. Haworth moved and Mr. Coleman seconded the motion that the Chicago Pump Company of Chicago,Illinois be awarded the contract to the Air Diffuser Equipment at the price of $12,549.27. Upon recommendation of the Fire Chief,Lester Williams, Mr. Hodgin moved and A'r. Haworth seconded that Charles Carrol having completed his six months • probationary period be placed on the payroll as of January 2,1948 as a reg- ular fireman. It was so ordered.
