The Board of Public Works and Sa. l'ety of the City of Richmond,
Inndiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board,
Friday, December 5, 19=7 , at 9 a. _i- . Messrs . Larl Le slier, S .
W. Hodgin, and Winnfield Urban being present the following
proceedings were had to unit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Clarence '.iind.sor who is the head of the State Highway
Commission for this district appeared in the office of r arl
Iteisker. He stated than it was impossible to place a stop and
go sign at 22nd and Main because it would call for a complete
remodeling of the entrace of Glen Miller Park. He did not recommend
placing a sign at any other point on the hill because of traffic
hazards during; the winter time . He also offered to install a
large sign two blocks east telling of a traffic check in progress .
and request state troopers t.o patrol the section and make
arrests for speeding. He also stated that, at 1!ational Road
and West 3rd Street he did not recommend a stop and go sign
But would install a rod flasher light at the intersection, which
they have found to be satisfactory throughout the state .
Councilman Marino at the Council meeting last Monday night
stated that a new railing, is needed along the C 0 BR from
Sheridan St . to the Crosley plant. This natter \ as referred to
the City engineer.
A letter was received from Dr. Tom S . Shields requesting
a loading zone reserved in front of his office on tie northeast
corner of 11th and A Streets . '.Lhis matter was referred to the
City Engineer and tile Traffic Doi si on .
A petition was received requesting a traffic light at 10th
and pi . Thismatter was referred to the Trai f'ic Division.
It was called to the attention of the Board
Edwin Ross , superintendent of the hi chniond Sewage Disposal plant ,
was �:iven the Indiana Sewage As'sociationT s award of Merit for

The Clerk of the Board was ins truc ted to notify the owner
of the property. along 0Jth Street by the Tivoli Theater that the
sidewalk needed repa i ring.
After alloy irm claims in the amount of .,;4 ,847 .25 , upon
proper motion the Board adjourned.
