HomeMy Public PortalAbout09-05-1947 1 9 2 • OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC VJOFKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, I DiANA FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 1947 • The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, I/ Indiana,. met in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday, September 5, 1947, at 9 a. m. Messrs . Earl iieisker•, S . J. Hodgin, and :infield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to wit : The minutes of the. preceding meeting were read and approved. Idr. 'Burkhardt , Street Commissioner, reported. a tree that needed to be taken down on the corner of Northwest L and Hunt Streets . The Clerk was instructed to notify the owner of the property that this tree should be removed. ?ire Chief Dilliams requested permission of the Board to attend the Indiana fire Chief Convention next week at Lvansville . Permission w a s granted. A request was received for a str. eet light to be installed at the alley on North C Street between North Sth and. North 9th Streets . This matter was referred to the City Engineer and the Chief of Police . A request was received from Mr. L. Anthony for a street light- to be installed at the intersection of South 4th and 11 Streets . This matter was referred to the City Engineer and the Chief of Police . • Pursuant to instructions of the Board of Works ant advertisement was run according to law in the newspaper on August 6 and 13, 1947, seeking bids for an ambulance to be used by the City. No bids having been received, the chief of Police was instructed to investigate the possibility of purchasing an ambulance on the open market and report to the Board. • mvuhmAV The Chief of Police now reports that he can purchase from `!- _yet ." of Columbus , Indiana, a 1940 Cadillac Ambulance for 50rI5 the sum of : 3500 .00 with trade in allowance of ; 200.00, making the the balance 4;3300 .00,. i:ir. todgin moved that this proposal be accepted and Li. Keisker seconded it . It was so ordered. Don Crabtree , representing the Eavey Company, make a request to construct a ramp leading from their building located on Neff Street . Such Ramp to extend out to the street 3 ft . 9 in . into Neff Street as shown on Blue Print No. 1 ' dated August 26 , 1947 .
