FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 1947
The Board of Public 1/works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana , met in regular session in the office of the Board,
Friday, August 8, 1947, at 9 a. m. Messrs . S . W. Hodgin, and
Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had
to wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr . Toms appeared before the Board representing the Richmond
Cooperative Club requesting permission to put up signs over the
traffic lights along Main Street for pedestrians . This matter
was referred to the Traffic Division.

At the Council Meeting of hugust 4th, 1947, Councilman. Marino
reported' a request for a traffic light to be installed at Nw. 2nd
& Randolph Streets , also a street :.light be installed at Ni C Street.
These matters were referred to the Traffic Division.
Councilman Kinder reported a request for the installation
of traffic lights on National Road West at intersection of 1st ,
3rd, &, 5th Streets for the benefit of children going to Joseph
Moore School. This matter was referred to the Traffic Division.
Councilman Russell requested that a street light be installed
on South H between 8th 9th. This matter was referred to the
Traffic Division.
A request from K. H. Knox of the C &, 0 Railroad concerning a
restricted parking area in front of, their passenger station for two
or three automobiles to accomodate, their patrons and taxies meeting
the trains , was referred to the traffic Division.
A complaint was made concerning the various crossings of the
Penn. R. R. The City Engineer reported that he had taken the
matter up with the general superintendent of the R. R. at
Indianapolis who promised to see that repairs were made .
Miss Myra Coates requested permission to clean push off NW llth
Street and grade a temporary driveway thereon, so she: can get to
the rear of her' - property. She was granted permission.
TIie request )of '.Tie Rainbow Market to cut curbs at 13th and Main
was referred to the Traffic Division.
After allowing claims in the amount of fI,/•j; upon proper
motion the Board adjourned.
