SATURDAY, AUGUST 2, 1947 .
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session i.n the office of the Board, Saturday,
August 2, 1947 , at 9 a. m. P'Iessrs . Earl Keisker, S . V . Hodgin,
and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were
had to wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
A request from Dr. Paul B . Pentecost concerning parking
along the yellow curb along the rear of his office was referred
to the traffic Division.
At 9:30 a .m. the time set as per advertisement to receive bids
for the steel building to be used for storage purposes at the City
Garage , the only bid received was opened.. This was the bid of the
Armco Drainage & Metal Products , Inc . , in the amount of 2585 .35.
Upon the recommendation of the City Engineer, Mr. Keisker moved that
the said bid be accepted. Mr. Hodgin seconded it and it was so
ordered.
This being the time set for the receiving of bids for the
construction of sewers in the Bealview district , South H St . and
South L St. , the two bids received were opened: . These were the
bids of the Debolt Concrete Co. in the amounts of ` 7,354 .60 for
South L St . and 12,990.00 for South M St . These bids were rejected
because they exceeded the City Engineer' s estimate of the same .
The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare an advertisement
for a lz ton truck for' the Department of Health & Sanitation and
an ambulance for the Police Department . The date set for the open-
ing of the bids was set for Friday, August 22 , 1947 , at 9:30 a. m.
An estimated repair of the boiler in the Glen Miller Park
Greenhouse was received from John Niewoehner in the amount of 800.00
of which he estimated that the insurance company would pay around
000 .00. He informed the Board that he felt that a new boiler
should be installed. The cost of which, he estimated about 1250.90.
The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare an advertisement for such
a boiler. Bids to be opened on Friday, August 22, at 9:30 a .41.

After allowing claims in the amount of •: 5,813.12, upon
proper motion the Board adjourned.
