CITY OF RICIIOND, INDIANA
FRIDAY, JULY 18, 1947 .
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday,
July 18th, 1947 , at 9 a . m. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S . W. Hodgin, and
Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to
wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr . Nichols, Park Superintendent, recommended that the fence be
taken down in Davis Park, as people have been tearing it down gradually.
This was referred to the Board.
Mr. Ross , Superintendent of the .iJisposal Plant, reported that there _.
was an excessive amount of grit coming into the sewers . This matter
was referred' to Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Burkhardt .
Fire Chief Williams reported to the Board that he had talked to
Mr. Young about the burning of corn cobs , and that the matter was
being taken care of .
Mr. Gennett appeared before the Board and complained about people
throwing trash and logs in the lake in Glen Miller Park. This matter
was referred to the Park Superintendent and the Chief of Police .
Mr. Hodgin moved that Declaratory Resolution No. 9-1947, becon--
firmed and that the hearing for benefits and damages be set for August
1, 1947, at 9:30 a. m. Mr . Keisker seconded it and it was so ordered.
A letter was received from Mr. Will Keller complaining about water
standing 'in: Seventh Street Park. This matter was referred to the
Street Commissioner.
A letter was received from William Wilson suggesting that a sign
be placed at the corner of 29th St . and National /Load to show that
29th St . is a dead end. The Street Commissioner was instructed to place
a sign at the place recommended.
A petition was received from Albert Kirk requesting permission to
cut the curb on north side of North D St . The same being approved by
the Baird.
At 9:30, the tiie set as per advertisement to receive bids forI/
coal for the City of Richmond per plans and specifications on file in
the office of the Clerk of the Board, the two bids received were
opened. The bids being as follows :
