Friday, July 11 , 1947
I/ The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Ri-chmond ,
Indiana met in regular session in the Office of the Board, Fri-
day, July llth , 1947 , at 9 a. m. Messrs. Earl Keisker , S.W. Hodgin,
and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had
to wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
It was reported to the Board that Councilman Marino complained
concerning the trucking at North 3rd & C St. The Tibbs Company
parks large trucks on the sidewalk, 2 to 3 hours at a time , and
trucks are parked there all evening. This was referred to the Traf-
fic Department.
Complaint was & : de also by Councilman Marino. that at Young's
Feed Store at North.:- G St. , they are burning corn cobs all day ,
creating a smoke nuisance. This was referred to the Fire Chief.
The Board ordered all parking restricted around the Island
at the junction at North 7th & D St. & Ft. Layne Ave.
Upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board ap-
pointed Edward Cordell as Probationary Officer on the Police Force ,
starting July 16, 1947.
The Board granted permission to the Municipal Light Plant , to
run a line under the sidewalk on the south side of North A Street ,
from North 2nd Street to the alley east of North 3rd Street.
After allowing claims in the amount of $ r// , upon
proper motion the Board adjourned.
