CITY OF RICH OND, INDIANA
FRIDAY, MAY 29, 1947
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board, Thursday,
May 29, 1947, at 9 A. M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S . W. Hodgin, and YinfielL
Urban being present the following proceedings were had to wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Keisker moved that the res_°ignation of Thomas Hart from the
Fire Department, effective May 31, be accepted. Mr. Hodgin seconded
it and it was so ordered.
With Reference to the installation of sanitary sever running west
of North 8th Street between H & I as presented by Councilman Marino,
the City Engineer reported to the Board of Works that of the 29 names
appearing on the petition only five were eligible to sign such petition.
The City Engineer advised that the estimate cost of the sewer would be
$700.00 which should be divided amottng the five different parcels of
property served. The City Engineer further stated that for an
amount such as involved here it is not practical to use the Barret Law
and he recommended that the property owners make private contract for
the work. Mr. Keisker moved that the recommendation be accepted and
that the work be done under the supervision of the City Engineer.
A petition received by the Board for the installation of sewer
on South L Street to serve property in the north half of Parry Street
from 13th to 10th having been previously submitted to the City Engineer,
he now reports to the Board of Works that he has prepared an estimate
and petitioned the State Board of Health for approval of plans and
specifications and further that he had presented a copy of the plans
and specifications and estimate to a representative of the signers of
said petitionwith the thought that the work could be done by private
contract.
The City Engineer reports thatAhas not yet received the State Board
of Health' s approval of the plans for the beallview Sewer; such plans
having been submitted to the Board some time ago.
The City Engineer reported that 20th and Northwest A Streets have
been taken care of.
A letter was received from Wm. T. Hornaday requesting that parking
be prohibited on one side of the first block of South 20th from
Main to A. This matter was referred to the traffic division.
After allowing claims in the amount of ; " , ; upon proper
