FRIDAY, MAY 19, 1947
I/ ' The Board. of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board,
Friday, May 9, 1947,E at 9 A. M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S. W..
Hodgin, and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings
were had to wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Upon the recommendation of the Fire Chief, the appointment
of Thomas Hart as probationary fireman on the Fire Department
for a period of six monthes commencing May 16 was accepted upon
the motion of Mr. Keisker & seconded by Mr. Hodgin. It was so
ordered. .
Mr. Hodgin moved that the resignation of Eugene Hiatt from
the Police Department be accepted as of May 16th. Mr. Keisker
seconded it and it was so ordered.
A. petition was received from residents at Bealview for a
sewer between 1 & Q and 3rd and 9th and was referred to the
City Engineer for preparation of plans and estimates .
Mr. Homan reported broken curbs at 19th and G Streets and
a stop sign broken. The matter vas referred to the City Engineer
and the Street Commissioner.
Mr . Lee Ridgeway ask permission to install a six inch sewer
on North J Street on his property at the Southwest corner of
North J and 14th Streets . Such sewer to be laid between the
curb and sidewalk at a distance of about 60 feet to the sewer
in the alley west of North 14th Street . Mr. Hodgin moved that
he be given permission, Mr. Keisker seconded it and it was so
ordered.
A bid was received from Wallar Motors Co. at 9:30 A. M.
pursuant to legal advertisement in the hichmond Palladium
Newspaper. It was made for bids on a s ton pick up truck for
the Street Department . Only one bid was submitted from the VV'allar
Motors for a z ton, 6 cylinder, Ford pick up truck with heater
at y i983.27 with a 00.00 allowance for one 1928 pick up truck
now being used by the Street Department. Upon the recommendation
of Mr. Burkhardt, Street Commissioner, Mr. Keisker Moved and Mr.
Hodgin seconded that this tid be accepted. It was so ordered.
After allowing claims in the amount w J37.4 , upon proper
motion the .Boatd adjourned.
