RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 1947 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday, Apri1_ 4, 1947, at '9 A. M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S. W. Hodgin, and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Upon recommendation of Fire Chief Williams , Mr. Keisker moved that the resignation of Everett H. Biddle be accepted. Mr. Hodgin \ seconded it and it was so ordered. Mr. Keisker moved that the Declaratory Resolution No. 4 be adopted, setting Friday, April 241, 1947, at 9:15 for hearing of same . The matter of the State Highway installing speed limit signs for 30 miles per hour in the business districts and the school- districts was referred to the City Attorney & City Engineer to investigate and , take up with the State Highway. . At 9:30 the time set as per advertisement to receive bids for one 'lz ton truck, two business coupes , & one 3/4 ton pick-up truck, for the Street Department, the only bid received was opened. This was the bid, of the Colvin Motors in the amount of 41551.34 less allowance for 1936 Chev. Coupe $101.34 making the net bid 0_450.00. This bid was referred to the City Engineer and Street Commissioner to report at a later meeting. There being no bids on the two trucks and on the one business coupe for the Sanitary Inspector, the Street Commissioner was authorized to obtain prices in the open market and report his findings to the. Board. After allowing claims in the amount of ' 2,44 9, upon proper motion the Board adjourned. ,After due consideration Mr. Hodgkin & Mr. Burkhardt recommended that the bid from the Colvin Motors Company be accepted.
