HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-14-1947 54 OFFICE OF TI-EL" BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, I1 DIf NA, FRID AY, MARCH 14, 1947 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday, March 14, 1947, at 9 A. M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S . W. Hodgin, and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to wit : The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. The clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for one 1' ton truck, two business coupes ecuipped with heaters , one 5/4 ton pick up truck for the Street Department with trade-ins . The Date set for the opening of the bids was set for Friday, April 4, 1947 at 9:30 A. M. A letter was received from Mr. J. L. Alyea, local manager of the Indiana. Railroad relative to the petition received by the Board from residents in the area near, South 5th from G to 0. Mr. Alyea pointed out the reasons why the request for bus service could not be given this area at the present time . The revenue eerived from this area could not possibly meet the expense of this service . Upon recommendation of the traffic division Mr. Keisker moved that the requ est of the AdaLartel Company be granted which will :-: parkin g4between 9th . 10th on North E on the south side of the street : Mr. hodgin seconded it and it was so ordered. After allowing claims in the amount of 19 ,021 .37 , upon proper motion the Board adjourned. President Attest: •, ; cretary
