The Board of Public it:orks and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board, Fri- day, February 14, 1947, at 9 A . M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S . W. Hodgin, and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to writ: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Arno Lowden-stagger requested permission to cut down a tree which is on City property in the alley at 542 North 19th. This matter was referred to the Park Superintendent to inspect whether it should come down and, if it is satisfactory he will give ner_nission if their will take care of cutting and hauling it . The Indiana Fur Company asked for permission to cut out one foot of the concrete sidewalk at 828 Alain Street and put in terrazzo . ir_r. Hodgin recommended that they be given permission under the � uper- vision of the Building Inspector . Chief Duckett as instructed in a previous m.eetin;; presented the Board with the proposition from Ridenour Auto Sales furnishing an Oldsmobile coach complete with radio, heater, seat covers , ez 5 - 700x15 tires , having a price of y2,027 .80 less trade-in allowance on the 1942 Chrysler coach of v1027 .80 minus federal tag. The Board instructed him. to make the purchase . Er. Sam Jaffe on the request of the City Controller appeared before the Board in regard to increase of prices on the coal contract with the City for the present heating season . City Attorney Keisker informed i,_r. Jsa :e that in his opinion both Parties are bound to the contract with ;hange . A letter vraa_s received from the Jenkins Brothers Insurance Company advising; the City that an insurance policy had been issued to Larlham College covering any damages as result of Earlham College sign extended across Main Street . Councilman Brehm recommended that the -Board `'eve careful consideration to the disposition of the Market House in the future . This was referred to the City Enineer.
