HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-17-1947 -142 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OFICHMOND, INDIANA SATURDAY, JANUARY 17, 1947 The Board of .Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, I/ Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board, Friday, January 17, 1947, at 9 A. M. Messrs . Earl Keisker; S . W. Hodgin and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Frank Evans and a . group of people from the Morton Lake Addition appeared ,before the Board in complaint of dumping of garbage in Morton Lake , This was referred to the Street Comm. , City Engineer, and Sanitary Inspector. Mr. Keisker moved, that the Indiana Railroad operating in the City of Richmond be granted permission to serve the territory from West 10th and Main to East Haven Avenue and Kr. Hodgin seconded it, and it was so ordered. Mr. Keisker moved that the amended contract between the City and the Chicago Pump Company for Suing Deffusers and sup- plemented parts setting the purchase price at cpo,940.20 be accepted by the City, Mr. Hodgin seconded it and it was so ordered. Mr. Champion informed the Board that another section of the park boiler has gone bad and he was directed to contact the insurance company at once. Mr. Hodgin reported that the matter of repairing the railroad crossings has been taken .up with the/Officials railroad 61, .1- r+ Wsed' .. 64- Mr. Duckett recommended that is street be re-5 for at least 30 feet eA.4 - south of the intersection of J. Also a line across the street connecting same . 4 The resignition of Jacob 'F. Chapman from the Richmond Police Department was accepted effective January 16, 1947 . The question of the lease on the City property occupied II by Mr. Highley on the continuance of Randolph Street was referred to Mr. Keisker for investigation. Mr. Ross reported indiscriminate shooting was being done in the vicinity Df the Disposal Plant. He stated that the sheriff' s office had been notified but that the shooting still had not been stopped. Mr. Keisker advised that Mr. Ross or one of his employees could be appointed a deputy sherriff and thus handle the problem in that manner.- 144 ® ,..„Aa ir. Duckett recommended that parkins be restricted on the ]-i i side of the road in front of the Crosley from the railroad Crossing 500 feet East .
