The Cauncil took into consideration a petition for extending, reconstructing and naintain�.ng the present vv-ator works system within said town, r��hich had been filed since the last regular council r:eeting and found it to be legal and to bear the requisite signatures. Councilman ���� introduced and read the reso- lution next 'na er set ou and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman and after due consideration thereof by t e,cou cil, the I'Iayor put the questionupon the adoption of said resolution and the roll being called, the following named Council-nen voted Aye: Nay: None. �`Jhereupon the P,7ayor declared said resolution duly ado pted as follows, to -wit: RESOLUTION. WHEREAS, A petition for extendin6, reconstructing and maintain- ing the present stater �•:or1-s ss.*stem within said town, i�eading : "To the Tern- _ ..Council of the Town- - -of t' ell ,burg, Iovra ""'e, the undersigned, qualified electors of the Toren of �7elleburg, Iovra, petition th�:t you call a special e3.ectior. for the pur- pose of voting bonds in the sum of Twelve Thousand Dolls.rs (�12,000.00) for the purpose of extending and reconstructing and maintaining the waterworks." �/ �/ �� >�s been presented to this Council o� the � dayof �-�•�� 1930 , Utica, and this present council meeting i.s t e first regu ar council ��-'eting since the filing of said petition; and �UHFREAS, Said petition is signed by qualified electors of said t T equal in number to twenty-five per cent of those who voted �_tst i°e�u7_ar municipa]_ election held prior to the filing of Said petition snd is in all other respects sufficient and complies ;�ith the provisions of Chapter 319, Code of Iovra, 192�1, and should be :ranted, and this council has jurisdiction thereof; and '�YHEREAS, It is necessary to submit to the voters of said town a.:.� the proposition of extending, reconstructing and maintaining the EWILITE•Ptfli.�jp''y�, . THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, By the Town Council of the Town of '"ellsburg, Ion:a, as follows section 1. That a special ©lection of said Town of ti",'ellsburg, Io::�a, be and the sums is h©reby called and shall be h®ld on the �I� der of December, 1930, at the Town hall, '"ellsburg, Io�:�a, from a-�gT-t o�clock a. m. to eight o'clock p. m., for the purpose of �.ubmitting to the voters of said town, to be by trhem voted upon, the proposition of extending, reconstructing and maintaining the pr©sent hater vrorks system within said tovm and contracting an indebtedness for such purpose not exce©ding ,�12,000, ��nd i^suing bones for such purpose not exceeding w12,000, and levying s tax annually upon the taxable property in said town not ©:zceQding mills par annum for the payment of such bonds anT t e n eras- arson. Section 2.
