It was moved that the matter be taken up further with them in view of the fact that complaints ` are still being received. . The clerk Of the Board was authorized to notify the Light Plant giving them permission to trim trees in connection with' the installa- F . tion of traffic lights at South 10th and A and South 12th and A. . At 9:30 the time s et as per advertisement to receive bids for aeriation tanks and sewage treatment works per plans and specifica- tions on file in the office of the City Engineer and the Sewage Disposal Plant, the only bid received was opened. Mr. Keisker moved, upon the recommendation of ,the Superintendent •of the Sewage Disposal Plant, that the bid of the Chicago Pump Co. pursuant 'to specifications11 on file with the Board of Public Works in the . sum of 8,416 be' ac- . cepted with the understanding that delivery and.payment be made after January 1, 1947. Mr. Urban seconded the motion and it was so ordered. After allowing claime,s in the amount of 01,542 0, upo, ..proper motion the Board adjourned. ' .,, . OF RICHMOND, INDIANA FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Rich- mond, Indiana met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, October 11, 1946 at 9:00 A. M. Messrs . Winfield, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin being present, the following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded upon recommendat'• on of the Chief of the Fire Department and the Board of Trustees of the Fireman' s Pension Fund that James Kortwri-;ht be reinstated as a fireman as of November 1, 1946 providing he passes the necessary physical examination. A request was received from Chris J. Bailey for the instal- lation of stop signs at 16th and South B Street. Street Commissioner Burkhardt reported that there is a stop sign controlling east bound traffic and the stop sign controlling west bound traffic is 1 being installed. Frank Campbell, Foreman from the Municipal Electric Light and Power Plant, announced that it is impossible to put the light in between D and E streets on South West 3rd Street for the reason that 1e cannot get an easement over private property to extend his lines . 9: 30 the h:jur sat for the receiving of bids pursuant to the advertisement for automobiles and an ambulance ib r the Police Department and none being received Mr. Urban moved and Mr. Keisker seconded that the Chief of Police be authorized to go into the open market and obtain prices and report back to the Board. It was so'. ordered. At 9:30, the hour set for the receiving of bids for the new fire truck pursuant to legal advertisement as previously published, the bids were opened, five in number. Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded and it was so ordered that these bids be referred to a committee composed of the Fire Chief and the Board as a whole.
