AND SAFETY, CITY OF RI CHMOND, INDIANA
FRIDAY AUGUST 30, 1946
" The Board of Public Works and Safety of . the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday,
'August 30, 1946 at 9:00 A. M. Messrs . S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban
and Earl Keisker being present, the following proceedings i,,ere had
to-wit :
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
A letter was received from Nola B. Jackson asking that some-
thing be done to eliminate the annoying condition that arises on
the property of her sister at al S. W. 16th Street every time it
rains . She states that the water from Main Street runs down 16th
Street and into her sister' s lot causing the house to stand in a
pool- of water.. This matter was referred to the City Engineer.
A letter was received from the Miller Cab Co. requesting -that
a space be reserved in front of it ' s office for cabs to park. This
matter was referred to the Tra i'fic Division.
A petition signed by eight people was received requesting that
a street light be placed on South West C Street west of Easthaven
avenue and east of South West 19th Street. The Board approved the
installation of a light at this location and the clerk was ordered
to notify the light company to that affect. _
Mr. Cooley, representing the Richmond Community Chest Fund,
appeared before the Board seeking permission to place Comunity Chest
Flags on the ornamental light posts on Main Street. The Board granted
this permission with the instruction to Mr. Cooley that he contact
Mr. Sfevens , superintendent of the Light Plant, for his permission.
Ater allaying claims in the amount of yp 5`, 61/,a.s3 , upon proper
motion the Board Adjourned.
