HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-02-1946 111 OFFICE OF TILE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY,., CITY OF RICEMOND, INDIANA FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, _1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, August 2, 1946 at 9:00 A. M. Messrs . Earl .Ke!is1er,and Winfield Urban being present, the following proceedings were had to r . t: The minutes of the Preceding meeting were read and approved. Firechief Williams recommended to the Board that Lester Retherford be promoted from the rank of Lieutenant to Captain and Thomas Bryan be promoted from fireman to Lieutenant both,as of August 16 . This matter was held until the other member of the Board could be present. D. C . Cornell of North Sixth Street, agent for the Kalamazoo Furnace Co. sent a letter to the Board requesting that space be reserved in front of his place of business to take care of loading and unloading. 'This matter was referred to the traffic division. Mr. Burkhardt reported various complaints about the South Sixteenth Street dump and that he was taking the necessary precautions to make it as inoffensive as possible to residents of that neighborhood. The clerk of the Board was instructed to obtain the necessary information from the department heads and toprepare advertisement for puchase of coal bids to be received on August 23. A petition was received by the Board signed by Mr. Howard Ferance requesting permission to widen the driveway from 6 ft. to 10 ft. in front of No. 4 West View Addition located on the east side of Easthaven Avenue . Permission was granted by the Board. After allowing claims in the amount of 0 S-, yu v . 77 , upon proper motion, the Board adjourned. Presi end Attest: 1 Secretary
