OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, CITY OF RICHIY: ;ND, INDIANA FRIDAY, JULY 26, 1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Rich- • mond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, July 26, 1946 at 9:00 A. M. Messrs . S. W. Hodgin, Earl I/ Keisker„ .and Winfield Urban being present, the following pro- ceedings ..were had to wit: Upon recommendation of Fire Chief Leslie Williams Mr. Urban moved and Mr. Keisker seconded and it was so ordered that Lawrence Gehering who has satisfactorily served his six months ' probationary period be appointed a regular fireman as of August 1st if he is able to pass the required physical examination. Upon recommendation of Fire Chief Leslie Williams , Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded that the Clerk of the Board be instructed to notify the Water Co.to make an extension of the six inch line in the water main at Debolt Lane extending §datht:from::Cartwright Drive 400 ft. It was so o deredt eniL-he. etD of }'1115 Lim ANOtO //✓SfRL h F j'IRG �iy�Jl2/t^ f Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded that on the recom- mendation of Chief of Police Duckett, Howard Lewis having completed his six months ' probationary period be placed on the payroll as of August 1st as a regular patrolman. A letter was received by the Board from Ronald H. Cox seeking permission to lease the West half of the City Market for a period of one year and with the privilege of continuing the lease for a second year; lease price to be agreed upon with the Board but not to exceed the present stall rate paid by present lessees . The twelve stall spaces would be used for the retail business of a laundry store . The matter was taken under advisement .
