HomeMy Public PortalAbout07-12-1946 106 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FRIDAY, JULY 12, 1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday July 12, 1946 at 9:00 A. M. Messrs. S. W. Hodgin, Winfield Urban, and Earl Keisker being present the following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. Mr. Norman Jenkins , owner of the Low Price Filling Station appeared before the Board with a request to move one ornamental light and one fire plug at the east end of the Main Street bridge. This matter was referred to Mr. Hodgin, the City Engineer. Acting Park Superintendent Mr. Clem Nichols was given permis- sion by the Board to employ Mr. Herschel Fleagle to paint the main building at Glenn Miller Park for the sum of $339.00, which price includes labor and material providing said Fleagle submits a proposal to that affect in writing. Sewage Disposal Plant Superintendent W. E. Ross reported that the condition of promiscuous shooting on the Test Road and around the Sewage Disposal property by persons unknown still exists and is a decided menace to life and property.- He requests that the police be detailed to make regular investigation in this vicinity. The matter was referred to Chief of Police Duckett. A request was received to change the proposed location of the curb at Southwest Eighth and West Main Street. This was rejected by the. Board. Mr. Urban moved and Mr. Keisker seconded and' it._:=was _so -ordered that Mr. Frank Peters be given permission to place concrete in front of his business establishment at 19 South Fifth Street between the curb and the sidewalk at his own expense. After allowing claims in the amount of 28,451.63, upon proper motion, the Board adjourned. President Attest: jo ,d en .P.axJ Secretary.
