HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-10-1946 93 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC W ORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIA NA, FRIDAY, MAY 10, 1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana , met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, May 10, 1946, at 9:00 A.M. Present were Messrs . S . W. Hodgin, Earl Keisker and Winfield Urban: The following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceding n eting were read and approved. Mr. Ed. Ross, superintendent of the Sewage Disposal Plant, reported he had received one quotation on four new heads for the gas engines at the plant for 0159.00 per head, a total of $636 .00 for four heads . As this quotation was received from the only com- pany manufacturing said material, and as it is classed as mainten- ance, Mr. Ross was authorized to make to purchase. A complaint was received from Mr. A . E. Sanders that nothing had been done regarding the open iron doors in the sidewalk beside the Meyer Drug Co. on North 9th St . , and that garbage and trash are still placed on the sidewalk. This matter was referred to the City Attorney and the Sanitary Inspector for further action. Mrs . Baird, Librarian at the Morrison-Reeves Library at North 6th and A Streets, requested that the drinking fountain beside the Library be removed because of vandalism. - Mr .Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded the motion that Mrs . Baird be authorized to have the fountain removed at the expense of tlae Library.
