HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-19-1946 89 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHPJIONDr INDIANA, FRIDAY, APRIL 19, 1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, April 19, 1946 at 9 A.M. Present were Messrs . S. W. Hodgin, Earl Keisker and Winfield Urban: the following proceedings were had to wit: The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. l Mr. Harry Gennett appeared before the Board asking for parking restrictions in the vicinity of the Gennett Plant and that portion thereof now occupied by the Decca Manufacturing Co. This matter was referred to a committee composed of the City Engineer, Chief of Police , Chief of the Fire Department , and the City Attorney. Fire Chief Williams reported that the Richmond Water Works is willing to install a water line on South 14th between M and 0 Streets . 4_20'`4 Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded the motion that the water com- pany be authorized to install said line. It was so ordered.. The Clerk of the Board was instructed to notify the Street Depart- ment to paint the curb yellow in front of St. Paul' s Episcopal Church, j 2a,(0° N. 8th & A Sts . It was called to the attention of the Board of Works that git the Council meeting April 15th, 1946, a request was presented to Council ti give further consideration to the construction of a sewer in Beall- view, and the matter was referred to the Board of Works . The Board took under consideration and discussed thoroughly the possibility of construction of a sewer as referred to in Beallview. Having once been turned down by the War Production Board, the Board authorized the City Engineer to make a survey relative to property values in the area affect- ed and the possibility of constructing said sewer under the Barrett Law. The question of curbs being painted yellow, designating bus stops where new stops have been designated, was also referred to the Board. Mr. Keisker moved that Resolution #1, 1946, wherein the O'Maley Terminal Realty, Incorporated, has dedicated eight (8) feet in equal width off the entire west side of lots 6 to. 12, both inclusive, in Wierhak' s Sub-Division of Lots 7, 8 and 159 Schwegman' s Addition to the City of Richmond, be accepted. Mr. Urban seconded the motion and it was so ordered. After allowing claims in the amount of $12,645.48, upon proper motion, the Board adjourned. Attest: ' Agt44MA.., 14. 44,47VA- Secretary
