HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-08-1946 80 OFFICE OF TIM BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 1946 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiaha, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, March 8$ .1c ! 68 ' at 9 A.M. Present were Messrs . Earl Keisker, S . W. Hodgin and.Winfield Urban; the following proceedings were had to Wit The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. James Jackson of 806 North 16th St. appeared before the Board with reference to possible purchase of lot #25 in Abijah Moffeotts addition to the city of Richmond. This was referred to the Board as a committee as a whole. - Sam Addleman appeared before the Board and requested permis- sion to tap into the city sewer. This was to be investigated and reported on later. Mr. Urban moved and Mr. Keisker seconded that the Clerk of the Board be authorized to advertise for the purchase of one new automobile for the police department in accordance with- specifi- cations on file with the clerk of the Board, along with regular legal proceedings . It was so ordered. A petition was referred to the Board requesting a water main on South 14th St. near N from M to 0 Streets. This was referred to the Chief of the Fire Department. A complaint was made regarding a very bad place in the street at S .W. 16th and B. , and the street is in bad condition on South A. between 17th and 18th, at South 5th and G. , and South 5th and N. These complaints were referred to the street commissioner. Earl and Robert Benjamin, property owners- in the Bealview Add- ition, requested permission to tap into the water main on South 8th St. The Board granted such permission with the stipulation that said property owners repair the ditch and parkway after they have made this connection. The Clerk of the Board was instructed to notify the Richmond Home Telephone Co. to finish repair of excavation made between Lincoln and Randolph Sts. across the city parkway. The Board, after considering the application of the Richmond Home Telephone Co. to bridge the alley back of'its 'pr'emises on North' 9th St; with another .bulding ..re jectedsame. I/ A complaint was received through Councilman Charles Ewbank that a colored man has been dumping trash from the Belden Mfg. Co. on a lot at the corner of Boyer St. and the Williamsburg Pike. This matter was referred to. the City Attorney to take up with the Belden Mfg. Co. 81 After allowing claims in the amount of $61,603.42, upon proper motion, the Board adjourned. • es en Attest: Secretary •
