OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 1946
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday,
February 8, 1946 at 9 A..M. Present were Messrs. S . W. Hodgin,
Earl Keisker and Winfield Urban; the following proceedings were had

to wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded that on the recommenda-
tion of Fire Chief Williams, Elmer Keller be promoted from Lieutenant
to Captain and Lester Retherford from Private to Lieutenant effective
February 16, 1946 ., Both men are at #3 Engine House .
Mr. Keisker moved and Mr.= Urban seconded that the Street Com-
missioner be authorized to purchase additional sewer cleaning equip-
ment at a price not to exceed p490.75. It was so ordered.
Mr. Keisker moved and Mr. Urban seconded that on the recommenda-
tion of Chief of Police Duckett, parking restrictions be placed on
the north side of North A St. from 5th to 7th Street, and on the south
side of North A St. from the alley between 6th and 7th east to 7th St.
It was so ordered.
Mr. Urban moved and Mr. Keisker seconded, upon the recommendation
of Chief of Police Duckett, that the curbing in, front of 17 South 8th
and 21 South 8th be painted yellow for restricted parking.
The Clerk of the Board was instructed by the Board to notify the
light plant to install a light in the middle of the block between S.W.
D and S.W. E on S.W. 3rd St.
After allowing claims in the amount of 41S; ss%/. ,7, upon proper
motion, the Board adjourned.
