This action was taken after receipt of the following letter: January 30, 1946 "City of Richmond Board of Public Works Richmond, Indiana Gentlemen: We have recently established ourselves as a Sales and Service Operation handling Desoto and Plymouth. Our property is so designed that our Display Room will front on North 7th Street and our Service Department in the newly designed building identified as 613 North A Street. It will be readily understood by those to whom this letter is addressed that the normal traffic of a new car service operation vi. 11 reflect a definite traffic hazard as the result of the narrowamount of space be- tween our building and the Koger Shell Oil Service . We believe that the danger of traffic congestion and consequent acci- dents would be reduced to the minimum if you would establish a res- tricted parking area (yellow line) for a distance of three car lengths from the east extermity of our property in the direction of North 7th Street. If the Gentlement of the Board would delegate an individual to make an on-the-spot check of the situation, we believe it would be readily con- cluded that such a request on our part is a contribution to Public Safety. Yours truly, Mort Rhoads MR;BMS Rhoads Auto Sales" After allowing claims in the amount of $6,300.52, upon proper motion, the Board adjourned. I/ President G%' Attest: %e /e Secretary
