OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
FR.WAY, NOVEMBER 2nd, 1945.

The Board of. Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday,
November 2, 1945 at 9:00 A.M; Messrs. Earl Keisker, S . W. Hodgin,
and Winfield Urban being present, the following proceedings were
had to wit: -
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
City Engineer, S. W. Hodgin, reported to the Board that he had
received a request from Harvey Burrell, 54 Vine Street, for the
placing of a street light at the end of Vine Street . Mr. Hodgin
stated that he had investigated the matter and that there are no
power lines running into the street. He , also, was informed by
the Superintendent of the Light Plant that it is impossible to
get materials to place a line at this time .
A request was presented to the Board by Ramsey McDonald
for a leave of absence of one year. The Board took the same
under advisement.
A request was received from the Western Union Telegraph
Company for permission to trim trees affecting their wires along
Peacock Road. S. W. Hodgin moved and Winfield Urban seconded
the motion that permission be granted providing the Western Union
Telegraph Company would contact and confer with the various
property owners so affected.
Mr. Lester George, Principal of Nicholson School, appeared
before the Board with a request that signs be placed in the
immediate vicinity of Nicholson School warning motorists that
it is a school zone . This matter was referred to the Traffic
Division.
After allowing claims in the amount of $7,302.00, upon
proper motion the Board adjourned.
