OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAr0ETY, CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19, 1945.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday,
October 19th, 1945 at 9:00 A.M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, S. W. Hodgin,
and Winfield Urban being present, the following proceedings were
had to wit: -
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Chief of Police Duckett reported to the Board relative to "no park-
ing" in front and alongside of the Richmond Leland Hotel. It was
brought to the attention of the Board that at the Council Meeting
of October 15th Councilman Brehm reported the Doran Bridge was de-
teriorating to a state where it would have to be replaced in the
near future, and recommended that consideration be given to that.
This matter is now referred to the Board of Works as a committee.
Councilman Marino requested the installation of a light at the
intersection of South 5th and M Streets. This was referred to the
City Engineer, and Mr. Marino also recommended that the parking
of cars on Sheridan Street be restricted to one side of the street
from Grant to School. This is referred to the Traffic Division.
City Engineer Hodgin presented to the Board plans for the
widening of North A Street between Third Street and Ft. Wayne
Avenue on North A. He was requested by the Board to confer with
Mayor Britten and report back.
A complaint was received from Mrs . Belle N. Gwyn, 911 South
A Street, relative to narrow alley to the west of her house . This
was referred to the Traffic Division and the City Engineer.
After allowing claims in the amount of 4 7 )14F , upon
proper motion, the Board adjourned.
