" The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana. , met in regular session in the office of, the Board Friday September 21st. 1945 at 9:00 O'clock A. M. Messrs . Earl Keisker, Winfield Urban and S. W. Hodgin being present the following pro- ceedings were had topwit : The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. - - Fire Chief Williams reported that the engine block of the #4 fire truck had cracked and he found it necessary to order a new one at a cost of $135. As it would be several weeks before the new block would be received he had the cracked blockwelded to serve temporarily. His action was approved by the Board. Police Chief Duckett, as head of the trarfic Division, reported., that he had given further consideration to the request of the Manager of the Western Union for a restricted parking space in front of the Western Union Office on North 9th. Street, and recommended against granting the request. His recommendation was approved, by the Board. Mr. Ducket also recommended that a "No Parking" restriction be approved, along the curb on the,,eastt'side of North 16th. Street from Main Street to the first alley north, and also on the west side of North 16th. for a distance of feet from the north line of Main Street north. On motion by Mr. Urban, with second by Mr. Hodgin, the above recommendation was approved and the restriction ordered.
