HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-31-1945 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC :VORKS 5 AND SAFETY, CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA FRIDAY, AUGUST 31st, 1945. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of the Board Friday, August 31st, 1945 at 9 o'clock A.M. . Messrs. Earl Keisker and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit: The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Fire Chief Harry Williams recommended the placing of a fire hydrant at N. V. 15th and Cartwright Drive. Upon motion duly made and seconded and passed the installation was authorized. Street Commissioner Burkhardt was instructed to paint two parallel yellow traffic lines for pedestrians from the SE corner to the NE corner at N. 8th and E. Street. Upon the recommendation of Chief of Police Ellis H. Ducke6t the Board after proper action authorized the promotion of Richard Wambo to the post of Lieutenant effective as of Sept. 1st, 1945 at an annual salary of $2478.00. At 9 :30 A.M. pursuant to notice as published in the Richmond Palladium the Board opened bids for chain for the Sewage Disposal Plant. After conference with Supt. Ed Ross of the Sewage Disposal Plant the Board accepted the bid of the Link Belt Co. in the sum of 309.08 and Supt. Ross was instructed to prepare proper purchase order.
