OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SATIETY, CITY OF RICI0ND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 3, 1945

The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in the office of
said Board on Friday, August 3rd, 1945 at 9:00 o' clock A. M.
Messrs . Earl Keisker, S. W. Hodgin and Winfield Urban being
present, the following proceedings were had to-wit:
Thee, innutes of the preceding meeting were read and
approved;; •

Fire Chief Williams recommended: that the resignation of
George Baker be accepted by the Board, effective August 4.th.
Mr. Baker is retiring on a disability pension upon his
physician' s direction. He has served twenty-five ears his

• Fire Chief Williams also recommended the appointment of
Harvey A. Noble as temporary fireman, effective August 5th. The
motion was approved by the Board.
Since the Richmond Light Plant is unable to do the

Mr. Duckett reported that the painting in the garage
and washroom at the Police Radio Station has been satisfactorily
completed.
City Engineer Hodgin had investigated the condition of
the coal hopper for the stoker in the City Building and
recommended that additional plates be purchased. The Board
directed that he proceed with the necessary repairs .
Ed Ross, Superintendent of the Sewage Disposal Plant,
reported that the Earlham pumps would be back in operation
the afternoon of August 3rd.
The Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids on primary
tanks for the Sewage Disposal Plant.
After allowing claims in the amo of $4.,364.37 upon
proper motion The Board adjourned.
