CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
FRIDAY, JULY 20, 1945
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of
Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board on Friday,
July 20th, 1945 at 9:00 o' clock A. M. Members Earl Keisker,
S.W. Hodgin and Winfield Urban being present the following
proceedings ' ere had to-wit:
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
--Ramsey McDonald reported a short . circuit - on the 4'ower
lightin�• on July 19th. Temporary repairs were made and
the airport notified for the safety of air traffic. It is
hoped that repairs will be made by the 'Light Plant..during the
following week.
Councilman John Russell mentioned the request from The Safety
Commission of Indianapolis that every city cooperate by re-
' serving parking space for officers giving driving tests . Mr.
Burkhardt stated that the Street Department would furnish a
"No Parking" sign reserving the first two parking spaces at
llth andMain between the hours of 9:00 to 4:00 on Monday and
from 9:00 to 12:00 on Wednesday. The matter of painting
yellow markings has been referred to the Street Department and
the Traffic Division who, in turn, will take the matter up
with The State Highway Commission.
The complaint of Councilman Kinder was brought to the attention
of the Board by_Mfr eisk,er. There is a great deal of noise
after midnight and t e sugg stIon was made that the local
- police be paqi9giflrly attentive to the area between 7th and
Main and 10th/for at least an hour after midnight.
Permission was granted to Sara Oberle, 549 South "E" Street,
by the Board to cut the curb on the South 6th Street side.
The Board approved the endorsement forms for the fire and
extended coverage pursuant to the action taken at the meeting
of July 13th.
Claims were approved in the amount of $3,810.01.
