Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board. Friday, June 22nd, -19145,. at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --- Messrs. Earl Keisker, S. W. .Hodgin and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had • to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.; Mr. J. Brandon Griffis who resides in the property adjoining a portion of the East Boundary of. Glen Miller- Park appeared before the Board in regard. to conditions which exist in Glen Miller Park, • Mr. Griffis stated numerous fires had been started in the leaves in the park and spread to hie property due to a furnace which had been erected in the park for public use later dismanteled but a portion of it was being used as yet making a hazardous condition near his property Mr, Griffis also reoorted various roadways which had been made by constant use in the park offLtheema.i:n•;roadways had been extended onto his property by the cutting of the property line fence to the extent of creating a ynuiance, . The matter was referred to the Park Superintendent and the Police Chief. • • On the recommendation of the Traffic Division the Board approved • a no parking zone being established in front of the Patterson Funeral .Home located at Noet110 South gth Street except for theuselof-.vatrons offthe Funeral Home, and the Street Superintendent Was instructed td paint the curie yellow designating the same as such. On the recommendation of the Chief of Police the Board instructed the Clerk to make proper advertising giving notice to bidders that sealed proposals will be accepted for furnishing one car for the use of . the Police Department and the Board designated Friday , July 19 , 1945 et 9:30 A. M. as the time for receiving of bids for the same. • On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board approved the probationary appointment of Russell Stephenson as a City Fireman effective July 1st, 1945. The matter of the ad condition of the Alley between North 16th & 17th Streets North of the lead Works having been referred to the Board from the Common Council was further referred to the Street Superintendent for consideration. The matter referred from the Common Council in regard to the unsanitary condition in the +aching of dishes in various restaurcnts in the City was referred. to the Sanitary Inspector William P. Smith. • Friday June 22nd being the date designated by the, Board for the recei- ving of remonstrances or objections to fixing the^benifts•�.& damages in • accordance with the vacation of an alley mentioned`,;Resolution No.2-1945 by the Kenosha Transport Corporation, and there being no remonstrances filed. , and there being no benifits or damages except to the petitioner • `Who agrees to nay all cost for publication and recording of the same the Board • therefore declared there wereeno'-benef3tsr.or 'damages to be aae:ess:dd.
