The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, June 1st, 1945,.
at 9:00 o'clock A. M. -- Messrs. Earl Keisker, S. W. Hodgin, and
Winfield Urban being present the following peoceedings were had
to-wit;
. The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
The matter of a tent being erected on the property owned by •
Atwood Jenkins known as the Old Morton High School property was
taken under further advisement.
The matter of the un-necessary blowing of auto horns at a late
hour at night on North 10th Street around the Wescott Hotel was re-
ferred to the Police Chief.
Walter Test app-eared before the Board in the matter of astablishing
bridal trails through a portion of Glen Miller Park, the same being
taken under further advisement.
Street Superintendent Burkhardt reported he had informed the
men who have charge of the collection of garbage to place the lids
A on the cans after -empting the same and close gates thereof.
Friday,Ju#e lst , 1945'" being the date designated by the Board
for the receiving of bids for anal for the various departments ,of the
City , bids being as follows;

The bids were referred to a Committee domposed of City Engineer
Hodgin & City Controller Urban for tabulation and recommendation.
and after due consideration the Committee recommended that the Muff
Grain & Soal Co. be awarded the contract for furnishing the coal for
the Street Deartment Garage and for the Park Police Residence and that
the Jaffe Coal Company be awarded the contract for furnishing the coal
for hl1 the other departments all in 'accordance with their bid.
After allowing claims in the amount of $L.904.21 on proper
motion the Board adjourned.

On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams , Bently Borden
and.Richard Pickett were tempora.rly annointed to serve as City Fireman
at the sum of S125.00 per month,offeoti$e June lst & June 3rd respectively.
