Hodgin :e.nd. • .Winfield Urban .being present the following proceedings-were had . • to-exit; . • • The minutes of the preceding meeting-were -read and approved. 11/ On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board approved the temperary.._:appointment of Dudley Brusher as a City Fire- man, effective May 28th, 1945. On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board. approved the resignation of James 'A. Kortright-from the City Fire • Denartment9 effective June 1st, 1945. • Reverend Elbert M. Tyson .appeared before the Board requesting • - permission. to erect a tent on the premi cs_west of the Old Morten High,_School for the purposes of holding bible class meetings sponsored by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, • the' sime,being referred to the - Fire Chief, Police- Chief and Building Inspector for recommendation. • . :On the recommendation of Police Chief Duckett .the Board approved • an increase to the amount off S8,000.0O on the contents at the Police - Radio 'Station. - - . . . • • .The matter of. increesing the amount of burglar alarms in connection with the Police Department was referred to the Department of Law. • Thematter.of releasing the Bond on Lee Flora-for the the, curb gasoline pump.near 16th & Main Street was taken under further advisement. • • The Board 2lecommended that no department make purchase for articles costing over $100.00 without first consulting the Board. On the recommendation of City Engineer Hodgin the. Board approved the purchase off two overhead Traffic Lights from the City-of Brookville for 'the snm .of $50.00 per niece. The matter of the collection of garbage on South )4th Street acrepor-t referred to the Board .by the Common Council was referred to Street Superintendent Burkhardt. . • The matter of placing a no parking sign in front of the entrance to • the Penn. R. R. right of way on Ft. Wayne Avenue referred from the Common Council was referred to the Street Department. . The matter of the -bad condition' of the Rail Road Crossings . within the City referred to th the Board from the Common Council was referred to City Engineer Hodgin. • • .
