HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-27-1945 11 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF WORKS CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 27TH, 1945 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board Friday April 27th, 1945, at 9:00 o'clock A. M. -- Earl Keisker, S. W. Hodgin & Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved. On the recommendation of the Traffic 'Division the Board approved the establishment of a bus stop on the North & South side of Northwest J Street at the West intersection of Sheridan & Northwest J Streets. A proposal was presented to the Board for the installation of nww gutters ,ells and downspouts a ' the Market House from the Roland Swisher Co. for the sum of --$115.70 , and this being the only proposal obtained. the Building Inspector recommended that the said Company be awarded the contract dtn accordance with their proposal, which the Board unanimously approved. The following proposals were presented to the Board for the installa- tion of a. roof at the Police Radio Station. Eagle.Home.Insulation Co. Present shingles removed ,solid sheathirm installed , One layer of 30 lb felt- then applied over which Geruine _Rub-Er-Oid Tite-on Asphalt shingles shall be applied , with double valleys . double ridges; and metal rake edge Price $325.00 V Alternate bid over old shingles--------- Price $200.00 Sheriff Goslin Co. Remove present shingles and make solid 'sheathing installing new Artloc shingles with ten years free service for the sum of $374.00 The bids were referred to a committee composed of the City Engineer City Controller and Building Inspector for tabulation and recommendation and the Committee recommended that the bid be awarded/o the Fagle Home Insulation Co. for the total sum of $325.004 which the Board unanimously approved. A report was presented t@ the Board in regard to a hole ton the Side- walk located on the East side of the Second National Bank Building and the Clerk was in.structed-tooei.-qe notice to the Second National Bank officials that"-immedia.tel atten;tione,should:be given the same.
