The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board Friday , March 16th,1945, at 9:00 A. M. --- Messrs. Merl Keisker , S. W. Hodgin and Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and. approved. On the recommendation of City Engineer Hodgin and Street Commissioner Berkhardt the Board ordered that the publication be had giving notice- to bidders that sealed proposals will be received by it for material for the use of the Street Department and the Board designated March 30th, 1945 at 9:30 A. M. as the time for the receiving of bids for the same. Chief of Police Duckett recommended that the Board give consideration for the widening of the North approach at the West end of the Doarn Bridge , the same being referred to -City Engineer Hodgin for consider- ation. A letter was presented to the Board from Mrs. Robert Titus along. with a petition signed by several interested citizens which claimed that a dog kennel in the immediate neighborhood of 510 North 20th St was causing an.:undue nuisance act by the contnueously barking of dogs sufficiently to disturb the said neighborhood. The same was referred to City Attorney Keisker for consideration. A complaint was presented to the Board in regard to the bad condition of the alley back of the Economy Plumbing Co.the same being referred to William P. Smith , Health Inspector. The matter of a report by the Building Inspector in regard to the uneven condition of the sidewalks on South 21st St. was referred to City Engineer Hodgin. .. n. .a,. %... On the recommendation of City Engineer Hodgin the Board approved the installation of 3/4 inch water line by Fred Bartletton South 7th St. from South L Street 150 feet South , said line to serve until such time as the maincL service is installed, the small line to be abandedp at that time. A proposal was presented to the Board in the amount of $400.00 for the painting of the Radio Tower providing the City furnish the paint, the same being referred to City Engineer Hodgin & Controller Winfield Urban for recommendation. After allowing claims in the amount of $3,01.75 on proper motion the Board adjourned. 4C!.4-. President Attest; lerk of the oard.
