OFFICE OF THE BOARD OP WORKS
CITY OP RICHMOND, INDIANA,
MARCH 9th, 1945.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board Friday, March 9th, 1945
at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --- Messrs. Earl Kei sker,. S. W. Hodgin and
Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had
to-,wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved
On the recommendation of the Fire Chief, Harry Williams the
Board ordered the inttallation of a Fire Hydrant at Northwest H4, t/
Street also a Fire Hydrant at Northwest H and Ridge Streets. '
The Clerk was instructed to notify the Building Inspector to
make, check on the condition of the sidewalks from South A Street
to Reeveston Road on South , ) Street and report to the Board.
On the recommendation of the Mayor the Board recommended that
Russell Robins be Allowed to participate in the distribution of
funds obtained from bonds and insurance from the City of Richmond
as one unite for the year 19459 and the Secretary of the Richmond
Fire and Casualty Insurance Association is to be so notified.
A letter was presented to the Board from the Richmond Laundry
& Dry Cleaning Co. which stated they had installed annew boiler,
stoker and a new smoke stack the same being completed about Feb-
ruary 5th, 1945 , and the new equippment had eliminated the excessive
smoke condition as well as improved the operation of their plant.
A Declaratory Resolution was presented to the Board No.1-1945 in
accordance with a petition to vacate an alley known and decribed in the
following Resolution;
Be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, in the State of Indiana, that it is -3eaired and deemed
necessary to vacate First Alley North of Soiith..A .St.:,:.runngng. Eastwardly
and Westwardly between lot No. One Hundred Eleven (111) and Lot No.,
One Hundred Twelve (112) John Smith's Original Plat in the City of Richmond
County of Wayne, and State of Indiana,which alley proposed to be vacated
is more particulary described as follows, .to-ul t; Beginning on the West
Line of South 6th Street, at the; Southeast Corner of Lot No. One Hundred
Eleven (111) , John Smith's Original Plat of Richmond, Indiana; thence
• Westwardly along the South Line of Lot No. One Hundred Eleven (111),
One Hundred Thirty-Four (134) feet, more or less, to the East Line of A
Twenty Foot Cement Alley, running Northwardly and Southwardly; thence
Southwardly Ten (10)' feet more or less to the Northwest Corner of Lot
No. One Hundred Twelve (112) ; thence Eastwardly along the North Line
of said Lot No. One Hundred Twelve (112) , One Hundred Thirty-Four (134)'
more or less , to the West Line of South 6th Street; thence Northwardly
Ten (10) ' feet more or less, to the Southeast _Corner of Lot No. One Hundred
Eleven (111) , said point being the place of beginning,
All as shown by a plat of such proposed vacation now on file in the office
of the department of Public Works of said City9 The property which may be
injuriously or benificially affected in the said City of Richmond by said
proposed vacation is known and described as the alley herein proposed to

be vacated and the lots abutting on the North and South sides thereof
owened by WAYNE DAIRY PRODUCTS, INC. & EARL H, BULLERDICK.
• The, Board,unanimously adopted Declaratory Resolution No. 1-1945
and designated. March gd., at 9:30 A. M. as the time for the hearing
or the presenting of any remonstrance against the vaeation of the said

After allowing claims in the amount of S5,511.24 on proper motion
the :Board adjourned.
