The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday , January 26th, 1945, at .9:00 o°clock A. M. -- Messrs. Earl Keisker, S. W. Hodgin & Winfield Urban being present the following proceedings were had to-wit; The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approied. The Board discussed the matter further of curtailing the use of lights at various locations and a Committee composed of the City Engineer, Chief of Police & Light Plant Superintendent to make the proper survey and report to the Board. A report was presented to the Board showing the proper priority • rating AA3 had been obtained for the purchase of equipment to repair the Police Radio Station, The Board instructed the Clerk to make proper advertising giving notice to bidders that sealed proposals will be received. for one bituminuous material mixer for the use of the Street Department and the Board designated February 9th, 1945, at 9:30 A. M. as the time for the receiving of bids. A request was presented to the Board by Charles Shipp to install._-sewer'-ands make'tapti. alley;West ,pf':Southfl3thtSt1 eet from-t, Perry Street South to the Main Sewer, which the Board approved proving the petitioner pay all the cost for the installation and pay the usual price to the City for the tap. A letter was presented to the Board from the State Highway Commission requesting information on the minimum amount of material which would be necessary for the use of the Street Department of the City and the following amount of material was submitted by Street Superintendent Burkhardt , 170,000 gallon of Emulsified !snhalt for the treating of streets & 1,500 tons of Coated Aggregate for surfacing Streets. Friday , January 26th, 1945 being the date designated by the Board for the receiving of bids for cars & motorcycles for the use of the Police Department , four trucks for the use of the Street Department, an ambulance and a truck for the Park Department bids being as follows; BROWER MOTORS 1 -1942 Studebaker H. The bids were referred to a Committee composed of Street Commissioner, Gity Engineer & City Controller for consideration, and recommendation. The Board ordered a Special Session be held Saturday , January 27th, 1945, at 10;30 o'clock A. M. for the purpose of receiving a report from the Committee on bids. o bids were received on two cars 2motorcycles or ambulance for the Police Department and the Board authorized the Superintendent to locate the said ecauippment if possible and report to the Board. No. bid was received .for t to truck for the use of the Park Department and dealers report production will not start until March .l, 1945.
