CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA,.
JA1 UARY 19TH, 1945
The Board. of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in the office of s2id Board, Friday January 19th, 1945, at 9:00
o'clock A. M. --Messrs. So7•W.. Hodgin & Winfield Urban being present the
following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting wereread and approved.
A letter was referred to the Board by Mayor Britten from the Belden
Mfg. Co. in regard to the service rendered by the City Bus Lines on a
part of their runs which does not bring the busses close tnough to the
entrance of their factory.
Mr. James Alyea , Superintendent of the local bus lines was present
and discussed the matter with the Board and agreed to meet with the proper
officials of the Belden Mfg. Co. in solving the complaint.
The matter of childred from Joseph Moore School coasting into the street
from the School Property making a hazardous condition was referred to the
Chief of the Police Department for a report later.
The matter of curtailing on lights in compliance with Federal requests
for the purpose of saving on coal was discussed with the Mayor and Superin-
tendant of the Light Plant and the Board recommended that the Police Dep-
artment. make a survey as to how many lights could be ttrned out and report
to the Board.
After allowing claims in the amount of $ 3,234+.6g on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
Friday , January 19th, 1945, being the date designated by the Board
for the receiving of bids for the repairs and equipment of the Police Radio
and no bids were presented.
