TheBoard .of Public; Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in the Office`ofsaid Board Friday , December let, 1944 , at 9:00
o'clock A. 14. -- Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker & S. W. Hodgin
being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved;
At the request of the Water Company the petition for the installation
of a water main on Northl11th Street between NorthF & G Streets was referred
to the Water'..Works Co. by the Board.
On the recommendation of the Committee appointed to tabulate the bids
on One grit collector for the Disposal Plant the Board awarded)he contract
to the Jeffery MfG. Co. Columbus ,Ohio for the sum of $l1F35.00 with added
equipment of Flexopulse Timer in the amount of $63.00. Total $1498 00.
No delivery or claim to be presented until after January lst, 1911.5.
On the recommendation of the Committee appointed investigate a request
for a light to be installed at the alley intersection on South B Street
between 6th & 7th Streets the Board recommended that the installation of
a light be made at that location as soon as material is available and that
the Superintendent of the Light Plant be so notified.
On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the Board approved
the permanent appointment of Holly Clevenger as City Fireman effective
December lst, 1944.
The report of the Underwriters Service Association on all the departments
of the City was presented to the Board and referred to the various departments.
A request to tut the curb to a width cof'10;.feet was granted to August
J. Vosmeier by the Board , Lot 15, West Richmond, Addition on the North side
of the National Road between west lst & second Street.
After allowing claims in the amount of $5,437.59 on proper motion the
Board adjourned.
