FRIDAY , NOVEMBER 1Yth, 1944.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Ric mond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday November ail h, 1944
at 9:00 o'clock A. M. —.Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Koisker and
S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;

The minutes of the preceding were read and approved.
A petition was presented to the Board from four interested citizens
requesting a Water Main be installed on North 14th Street between P &
North G Streets the same being referred to City Engineer Hodgin and Fire
Chief Harry Williams fpr recommendation'
The matter of a complaint referred to the :City'Attorney:.from the Common
Council in regard .to ashes being removed from the right of way of the
Pennsylvania R. R. and the truck which removed the same parking across the
sidewalk at the intersection of Ft Wayne Avenue and the Pennsylvania right
of way was discussed by the Board and City Attorney presented the following
report, that Mr.Barns & Mr. Roper were contacted and Mr. Roper stated he
was getting permission from the Columbus Office to cut through the East
Erich wall so that they can drive in on their own prdperty to remove the
ashes.
The matter of a barracade being installed at the West end of the South
side Bridge was being referred to the City Engineer & Street Commissioner.
A report was presented to the Board in regard to a bad place in the side
walk along Kroger Store located on South 7th off of Main Street.
A petition was presented to the Board requesting a light be installed
at the alley intersection on South B Str-et between 6th & 7th Streets, the
same being referred. to City Engineer Hodgin & Mr. Stevens . Light Plant
Superintendent.
Friday November 24th, 1944 , at 9:30 o'clock A. M. being the date de-
\ signated by the Board for the time for the receiving of bids for two pumps
for the Eariham Pumping Station and One Grit Collector for the use of the
Disposal Plant, bids beinf as follewe;
CHICAGO PUMP CO.
Two, VO8LL4-5" suction , 4" discharge, vertical open shaft, dry basin
type, heavy duty nonelog sewage ejectors. Each ptmp is capable of passing 3"
sphere and will be designed to deliver 500 GPM at approximately 55' at 1150
RPM. Each pump shall be complete with one section of tubular Universal Joint
flexible shafting for pump pit approximately 8 to 10. ft. deep. We will furnish
two sets of ahchor bolts*

The bids were all referred to City -Engineer Hodgin, City Controller Urban
and Disposal Plant Superintendent Ross as a Committee to tabulate the
bids and make recommendation to the Board.
After due consideration the Committee recommended that the contract
for furnishing two pumps for the Earlham Pumping Station be awarded to
the Chimgo Pump Co, which the Board unanimously approved.No .delivex"or
claim to be presented until after January 1, 1945.
. The Committee recommended that the birds on the GTit Collector be taken
under further advisement9 which the Board approved.

After allowing claims in the amount of $11, .-S&�B". on proper motion
the Board adjourned.
