FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH;194)
"' The Board of Public Works and. Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, Sertember 15th,
1944. at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --- Messrs.Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker
and S. W. Hodgin being present the fol ]lowing proceedings were had
to-wit;
The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved..
Mr. Harry Williams , Chief of the Fire Department recU.ested the
Board to absent while he took his vacation a period of two weeks
which was apnrovedi 5 by the Board .
On the recommendation of Park Superintendent Frisby the Board
approved the cu.ttine a^wn and trimming of trees in front of the
nronerties owned by .Lon':Kennedy located at 1529 & 201g main Street.
The matter of the conjested traffic created at South 22nd. R. Main _
when the Junior High School is dismissed at noon hour and. in the evening
was referred to the Traffic Division.
k renuest to cut the curb to a width. of 10 feet was granted to
Earl Bowsman 502 .North lgth Street curb to be cut on North P3 street
for entrance to garage.
City Attorney Keisker reported to the Board that Robert Hudson owner
of the various theatres in the City ha.d instructed his ticket sellerd
to reouest the children who attend the theatres to not park their bycycles
on the sidewalk but place them in the racks nearby, which has been pro- .
vided.
: A letter was Presented to the Board from Co-E. Alexander Super-
intendent of the Cal'im'hus Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad which
stated they would make'necessary repairs in front of their station
in the City of Richmond to the sidewalks as recommended by the Board.
Only two proposals could be obtained by the Building Inspector for
the repair of the building in the rear of Police Station the same baing
as folln.ws;

The proposa; s were referred to the City Engineer & City Controller

furnish a.l.l. material & labor in accordance with specifications presented
in his nrono sa,l_
