The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, August llth, 1944
at 9°OO A. M. -- Messrs. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker and S. W. Hodgin
'being present the following proceedings were had to-wit:
- The minutes of the Preceding meeting were read and approved.
Mr. Edwin Ross reported to the Board that it would be necessary
to employ:x7'WWo men to take the place of two men who were leaving soon.
Mr. Harry Williams reported it would be necessary to empldy.,tiio-men
f6r the 'Fife-Departmentoby `thetFirst of September , 1944 to fill vacancies .
which will exist at that time. •

Gentlemen;
After several visits to the Government Doctors I am
led to believe that it is necessary that I should submit to you my res-
ignation as a temporary fireman. I would like the resignation to take
effect as of August 14th, 1944.

On the recommendation of Fire Chief Harry Williams the .Board. approved
the resignation of John F. Watkins from thn City Fire Deaprtment;
After allowing claims in the amount of $5,603.55 on proper motion
