FRIDAY, AUGUST 44th, 1944
The Board of Public Works and Safety of 'the City of chmond,
Indiana, met in the office of said Board, Friday, August 4th, 1944,
at 9:00 o'clock A. M. --Mreers. Winfield Urban, Earl Keisker and
S. W. Hodgin being present the following proceedings were had to-wit;
II/ The minutes of the preceding meeting were read and approved.
Burkhardt
Street Commissioner made a report on the condition off the tires
used by the Street Department stating a number would have to be re-
caped along with the purchase of a few new ones later;
On the recommendation of Park Superintendent Frisby the Board
approved the cutting of a tree by George DeHaven located at 639. South
10th Street.
Proper notice having been made for proposals for the furnishing
of blank checks for use of the Controller's Offin:^ , one bid being
received as follows, due to paper shortage, =tie other bidders could X

On the recommendation of the traffic Division the Board approved the
following request.
We are moving our cab office from South 5th Street to 15-16 South 6th.
Street , and we should like to have the curb in front of the building
painted yellow and designated a,s a Taxi Stand.

Three proposals were present to the Board for the repair of the
roof on thr Municipal Base Ball Park as follows;

We the undersigned , hereby agree to cover the roof of the Grand stand
at the City Base Ball. Park for the City of Richmond, Indiana, with one cold
mopp'ng of Philip Carey Co's Fiber Roof Coating applied in accordance with
the 4anufactures directions for the sum of One Hundred & Thirty -Two Dollars
($13 .00 .

we propose to furnish and apply to the above root` and the press box
one heavy coat of asbestos fiber coating. Price---- $162.50 '
Harry J Hoff Sheet Metal Works.
We will mop 64 squares of roof at the ball Park on the Grand Stand
with Johns-Manville Bonded Asphalt for the sum of $17S.00

City EnfineAr Hodp'in, Park Snperintendent Frisby & City Controller
Urban for tabulation', and after due consideration th=o -Committee
recomended that Vincent Juerlin_g & Son be awarded the contract in
accordance with their bid, which the Board approved.
After allowing claims in the amount-of $6,S65.1s& on proper
motion the Board adjourned.
